Jesus Stalker

I don’t have much to say today, so I’ll just leave you with this thought: I want to be a Jesus stalker.

Over 2000 years ago, Jesus lived in Israel, and did all sorts of amazing things. People wanted to be with Him. They wanted to touch Him. They wanted to know about this guy who claimed to be God and who healed the sick with a word, a look, a touch.  So they stalked Him. They went where He went, they listened when He talked, they followed Him when He took a minute to rest, and He never turned them away – no matter how tired He was.

Of course they didn’t last long. When He was accused, they fled. When He was attacked, they hid. When He was killed, they mourned.

But three days later He rose from the dead! And went back to find those same followers. He gave them life, and He gave them freedom, and He gave them forgiveness. They became life long, word spreading, death facing radically abandoned disciples of Jesus Christ, the risen savior.

I want to be a Jesus stalker. I want to be where He is. I want to live like He lives. I want to talk about Him, and know about Him, and go places I think He’ll be at. I want to be with other people who are Jesus stalkers. I want to be a Jesus stalker.

He is alive in me and I am His word spreading, life loving, radically abandoned follower.

Chris Tomlin says it this way:

where you go i’ll go

where you stay i’ll stay

when you move i’ll move

i will follow

who you love i’ll love

how you serve i’’ll serve

if this life i lose

i will follow you

all your ways are good

all your ways are sure

i will trust in you alone

higher than my side

high above my life

i will trust in you alone

light unto the world

light unto my life

i will live for you alone

you’re the one i seek

knowing i will find

all i need in you alone

in you alone
