What if you’re wrong? What if your ideas about an issue, and the conclusions you’ve reached in life are wrong? What if the lady you thought was an old grump turned out to be rich and generous grandmother? What if that man you thought would be cruel really does run the homeless shelter?
What if you’re wrong about God? What if you’re wrong about eternity and life and faith?
I’m going to admit it once and for all. Don’t catch me doing it again. Here it is: once in a while, I’m wrong. And in the case of online dating, I may have been wrong.
And I’m not just saying that because I haven’t had a date in over a year and am seriously considering joining an online dating service. And I’m not just saying that because I feel guilty every time I get an email describing all the hard work the gal who started Cache Connection has been doing.
The truth is that I may be just plain wrong.
And the worst thing to do when you’re wrong is to continue holding on to your notion at any cost, come what may.
But the best thing to do when you’re wrong is to admit it and change.
So in my case, I may in fact join an online dating site.
But in your case, it may be that you’re wrong about eternity. It may be that you’re wrong in your hopelessness. It may be that you were wrong that day when you gave up on God and dropped your faith.
Isn’t it time to admit if you’re wrong?
Isn’t it time to change?
