I get these cravings. It’s crazy. Like the chocolate malts at Culver’s. It can be first thing in the morning, or driving home from work at midnight. I’ll start thinking about it and wondering where the closest drive through is. I can almost taste the flavor in my mouth. I’ll go out of my way to get it. I’ll even trick my nephews into thinking going to culver’s was their idea simply to get that amazing chocolate malt.
If you’ve never had a culver’s chocolate malt, then you have no idea what I’m talking about. And that’s a sad reality. But you can change that today!!
If you have tried it, then I know you know exactly what I’m talking about.
Psalms 119:131 says “I open my mouth and pant, because I long for your commandments”.
Have you ever craved God’s word like that? Have you ever woken up thinking about it, wondering where you can get your next dose of it, willing to go to extremes to get it into your system?
Hard to believe, isn’t it?
But that’s what the Psalmist says. He feels an emptiness without it, he wants it so bad it aches. Heck, he’s panting for it.
If you’ve never experienced God’s living word in your life, then you have no idea what I’m talking about. But here’s what I know: it’s free for the taking and there’s nothing in life you need more.
And if you have tried it, then you know exactly what I’m talking about.
God’s word answers every question you’ve ever asked. Through it, God satisfies your every longing. He directs you when we’re not sure where to go. He sits with you when you feel alone. He corrects you when we’re wrong. He teaches you when you want to change. Through it He gives you joy, and peace, and security. His word is life.
Take my word for it. Taste it for yourself.
And crave it like you’ve never craved anything before.
