Bad Mood, Good Mood

I’m in a foul mood today. I ran out of coffee filters and didn’t find out til late last night. The line at Starbucks was so long I wanted to scream. The woman in front of me parked 2 feet away from the window and had to stop, get out of the car, and have a 2 minute conversation with the guy giving her the coffee while I seethed.

My car heater is erratic. The first snow fall is happening as we speak. It’s dark now early in the evening and even in the morning. I’m wearing a bad outfit to keep up with my mood and because nobody can wear good clothes on crummy weather days like this.

So I got to my office and figured I should at least open my Bible again and see if God could do something about my bad mood.

I went to my fall back Bible reading in the book of Psalms. I went to Psalms 146 and started reading.

Praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord, O my soul.

I will praise the Lord as long as I live.

I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

Uh Oh.

I kept on reading. Psalms 147.

Praise the Lord.

For it is good to sing praises to our God;

For it is pleasant and a song of praise is fitting.

Tried one more time. Psalms 148.

Praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord from the heavens.

Praise him in the heights.

Praise him all his angels.

Praise him all his hosts.

I started to get the gist. Psalms 149.

Praise the Lord.

Sing to the Lord a new song

His praise in the assembly of the godly

Let Israel be glad in his maker

Let the children of Zion rejoice in their king

Now I was on a roll. Psalms 150.

Praise the Lord.

Praise God in his sanctuary.

Praise him in his mighty heavens.

Praise him for his mighty deeds

Praise him according to his excellent greatness.

Praise him with trumpet sound.

Praise him with the lute and harp.

Praise him when it’s sunny.

Praise him when it’s snowy.

Praise him when there’s plenty.

Praise him in my need.

Praise him in the morning.

Praise him in the evening.

Praise the Lord.

I praise you Lord.
