Black Friday

If you’re reading this blog, then you survived thanksgiving and possibly even the crazy crowds of black Friday. Congratulations. As you know, I usually share a recipe on Fridays, but cannot bring myself to look at food this morning, let alone think of another recipe.

So instead of bodily food, I’m going to share some spiritual food from God’s word. Most of my readers don’t usually leave a comment, but if you’re up for it and want to burn a few more calories, take a minute to submit your favorite scripture passage today. You can submit your name as “anonymous”, and the comment will not appear until after I moderate it.

Here’s my spiritual food for the day:

From Psalms 118

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

The Lord is on my side as my helper, I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.

It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.

It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.

I was pushed hard so that I was falling

but the Lord helped me.

THe Lord is my strength and my song;

he has become my salvation.

I shall not die, but I shall live

and recount the deeds of the Lord.

I thank you that you have answered me

and have become my salvation
