Sin is a lot like dandelions.
At first there’s just one. You may even think it’s cute, all yellow and bright. You may even be tempted to water it or care for it. You notice that others have it in their yard too, but you prefer your very own.
But you wake one day and see that that one dandelion has turned into 100.
And pretty soon the dandelions have ravaged your yard, they have taken over the grass and squeezed the very life out of everything pretty and good.
Dandelions are aweful creatures. Just look at my neighbors yard. No, not the neighbor i’ve already mentioned in this blog. The other one around the corner. There is hardly a piece of green grass left under the sea of dandelions.
The only way to get rid of the dandelion is to core it out from the root. You’ve got to get serious and get your hands dirty. It may even mean getting down on your knees to make sure you get to the heart of the weed.
Too many times I’ve noticed people go soft on the dandelions. They may just mow them, or cut them off at the stem.
You can’t do that if you want life and health.
You cannot let sin get an inch on you. Core it out. Go to every extreme to make sure every root of it is gone.
It’s not a laughing matter.
Or else before you know it you’re dead.
