I don’t feel like going to work today. It’s nice out, and I just don’t feel like working hard.
I don’t feel like working out today. Not even my ab circle pro. Yeah, I know i’m hitting my 40s soon, but I just don’t feel like taxing myself more than the necessary amount.
And I don’t feel like paying my bills. Nope. I do not. I’d rather keep that money myself.
Oh, and I definitely don’t feel like driving the speed limit. I’m a careless – i mean care free, high spirited woman, and I don’t feel like doing what the officer on the corner of lincoln and busse says I must do.
I sure don’t feel like washing my sheets either. I know, I know…..it’s been two weeks that I’ve been sleeping in them, and I just saw a patient with the worst case of bed bugs known to man, but, well, I don’t feel like washing my sheets.
Oh, the list could go on and on.
The bottom line is, feelings come and go. You can’t trust them.
Take my word for it. Ask someone who’s still married…..feelings come and go. You can’t trust them.
So what about when God feels far away? Remember, feelings come and go. Truth stays the same. Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever. That’s actually not a cliche, it’s a verse in the Bible. God said it. I believe it. He also said that faith comes by hearing and hearing from the word of God.
Have you spent time in the word aka the Bible today?
God is nearer than you think. Don’t trust your feelings. Believe the facts.
