He is Able

He is able, more than able

To accomplish what concerns me today.

He is able, more than able

To handle anything that comes my way.

He is able, more than able

To do much more than I could ever dream,

He is able, more than able,

To make me what He wants me to be.

I love this chorus. We sang it at church today. It never fails to move me, it never fails to touch me deep in my soul. God is able. It doesn’t matter what I’m facing, it doesn’t matter who I’m facing. God is with me and equips me to face it.

In Psalms 138:8 it says “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me.” It’s true. Nothing will overtake me. Nothing surprises Jehovah. He is sovereign and reigns over my life. He protects me and upholds me. He surrounds me and sustains me. He is never changing, always with me.

He gives me the ability to do much more than I could ever dream. There’s not a desire in my heart that He hasn’t placed, and there’s not a goal in my mind that He doesn’t know. Without Him I cannot dream, but with Him I can do more than I can ever dream.

Are you facing a trial too big to bear on your own? Don’t fret. Simply lean on the one who can. He is more than able to help you. Are you facing a burden too heavy to carry alone? Perhaps God has allowed this burden in your life to lead you back to Him. Stop striving. Stop fretting. Stop fearing. Stop wondering. Simply look to the one who is able.

He wants to make you all He wants you to be. He wants to make me all He wants me to be. He is the potter, we are the clay. He molds us, reworks us, breaks us, reshapes us. He puts us under the heat, and sometimes lets us out to dry. He is the potter we, the clay. And He’s making us all He wants us to be.

Surrender to Him. Turn it over to Him. Yield to Him. Submit to Him.

He is able.
