32.

It’s my Birthday

Go ahead, wish me a happy birthday. Do it on my facebook page, send me an email through this website, but just wish me a happy birthday already. It’s so easy to do. You don’t have to send a card. You don’t have to call. It’s free. It’s easy. But it will still make me smile.

Even though it’s lame.

Because some of us haven’t talked in ages.

But better late than never, right?

I’m through the first 38 years of my life. They’ve been pretty productive years. Graduated from several colleges, got a couple of real life jobs, bought a couple of places, sold some others, bought a new car, started my retirement fund, paid my share of taxes, helped the needy in third world countries, traveled my fair share, dating a handful of guys, broken off two engagements.

Doesn’t get any better than that, does it?

But what have I done that has really mattered in this life? What kind of things will matter in the life to come?

And what’s left to accomplish seeing that I’m almost past the childbearing age and have little hope of marriage these days!!

Here’s what it boils down to: I’m forgiven. I am right with God. My sins are washed away. I am accepted by the king of the universe. I am loved by my father (both the earthly one and the heavenly one!!). I am secure in my relationship with God. I stand not perfect, but growing, by the grace of God almighty. I have found my complete satisfaction in Jesus Christ.

And I will spend the rest of my days talking about it.

You can’t stop me.

You can plug your ears, or unfriend me on facebook. You can call me crazy or ignore me. You can laugh your head off.

But you can’t stop me.

And if you’re wise, you can listen.

It’s my birthday, and I’ve learned one thing in my life: I can do nothing without God. He is the very breath that I breathe.

Listen.
