I’ve been 3/20′d

Spring is here – supposedly.

Hope you changed your clocks last night and made it to church on time. It’s Daylight Savings time and the birds are chirping, the flowers blooming, the people leaping.  All is green. You get the picture.

I like Spring. My birthday is in Spring. Tulips bloom in Spring. The days are longer. Frappuccino’s taste better. Flip flops look better. My squirrels have kids. The world smiles.

And it reminds me that God is a God of above and beyond.

I had a conversation with a friend last week. She took her Grandma to the doctor. Her Grandma is an atheist. She’s been trying to tell her about the love of Jesus to no avail. The doctor – whom my friend had never met before -  finished the exam then proceeded to share Christ’s love above and beyond what my friend could have asked for, prayed for, hoped for.

Another friend is expecting a baby after 10 years of waiting and praying. The due date is on my birthday (April 29 in case you’re wondering). Above and beyond what she could ask or think.

A tax refund I didn’t expect. A note in the mail that made my day. A reversal of fortunes. Above and beyond.

Ephesians 3:20 says this: “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

This week, I’ve been 3/20′d more times than I can tell you.

How has God 3/20′d you lately?

3/20′d is a new expression I’m introducing to the english language. It’s from Ephesians 3:20. Get it?

How cool is it that God put Ephesians 3:20 on your heart in regards to the subject of spring & the 1st day of spring is March 20th (3/20)!! I know, some peoples calendars show the 1st day of spring as 3/21 but since March 20th is my birthday & my mother told me that I was born on the 1st day of spring all those calendars that show 3/21 are a misprint in my book!! :)
