I want my life to burn for God. I want the embers hot. I want the color red. I want my life to burn for God.
Some days are long, their rhythm dull. Some days are hard, no light in sight. Some days are black and white, day in day out. I don’t want my life to just eke by. I don’t want mediocrity, complacency, apathy.
I want my life to burn for God.
But days on end hit with waves of sameness. Same old schedule – busy. Same old bank account – barely. Same old friends – bodies. Same old quiet times – boring. Same old sin – beguiling. Same old God – beckoning.
Same. Old. God. Beckoning.
Come. Come to the waters if you’re thirsty.
Come if you have no money.
Come if you’re tired.
Come you hungry.
Come if you need.
Come and drink.
Come now.
Come all.
Come, Lord Jesus, come.
I’m ready.
Burn in my heart the imprint of your name.
Burn in my soul the image of your Son.
Burn in my mind the depth of your Word.
Come, Lord Jesus, come.
I’m here.
Waiting.
For you.
To burn in my life.
Today.
