I am fascinated by the ants.
No matter how hard I try I cannot keep up with their pace of construction.
And no matter how badly they have been ravaged by the hurricanes of my leaf blower, the next morning their homes are back in place ready for use, unscathed by the devastation of surrounding traumas.
I cannot think of a creature more focused, hard working, and undeterred in their goals as they are.
No wonder God uses them as an example to follow!
In Proverbs 6:6 we are told to “Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. Without having any chief, officer, or ruler, she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest.”
And in Proverbs 30:25, it says “the ants are a people not strong, yet they provide their food in the summer.”
Need advice for the workplace? Go no further than my patio and observe the ants.
Don’t wait to be told to do the job. Do it on your own.
Don’t be discouraged if your plans fail. Try again the next day.
Don’t wait til the last minute to get the job done. Be prepared. Plan ahead.
Don’t worry if you don’t think you are up to the task. Work at it little by little. You’ll be surprised how much your dedication will show.
Stop being lazy. Embrace the work.
Use your time wisely.
