Monday Choices

It’s Monday.

You know the gig. You don’t feel like getting out of bed. You don’t feel like going to work. You don’t feel like being responsible.

But today is your day.

It’s your day to decide.

1. You can Call in or you can Jump in. You’ve done it before. You’ve got vacation days waiting to be used. You can call in sick. Or you can be radical and jump in. Forget about what could be or what should be. Live your life now. Jump into the job that is before you. Give it your all. Stop dipping your toes in the water wondering how cold it will be. Take a leap of faith and jump.

2. You can Ignore or you can Invite. Nothing feels better when I’m in a Monday mood than ignoring everyone around me. But today, you can be different. Instead of ignoring the girl who talks too loudly or too much, invite her in. Ask her about her weekend. Find out what makes her tick. Be the friend you were meant to be. You never know who God can bring your way. Sometimes even angels show up unaware.

3. You can Let go or you can Hold on. There are regrets to be embraced and hurts to be nursed. Or you can let go. You can forget about the past. You can stop running through the scenario that hurt you. You can let go of it all and hold on to your dreams. Hold on tight. It’s gonna be fun.

4. You can Mope or you can Hope. The last choice to make is the one that shows on your face. Your lips can turn down in a mope and a frown, or your face can light up the room with a smile. Hope is right within your reach. Today is about getting ready for tomorrow. It’s about all you can still be and all you can do. If only you’ll place your hope in what’s true.

It’s easy. Life is full of choices.
