Tell the Whole World about Him

You’re coming off a great Sunday.

You’re dying to tell the whole wide world about Jesus Christ.

But you show up to work and freeze.

And you hate yourself for it. I mean, after all, you know you’re supposed to talk about Jesus. You want to talk about Jesus. But you just don’t know how to do it without sounding like a freak.

Don’t worry. Your predicament is not unusual. Sharing your faith with others is hard.  So today I’d like to give you 5 segways into a conversation about Jesus Christ without sounding like a freak.

1. Guess what I did over the weekend? It doesn’t matter where you work, monday morning is notorious for reviewing the weekend shananigans. Everybody has a story to tell. Everybody has a tale to recount. Just because you didn’t spend Saturday night partying doesn’t mean you can’t throw in your 2 cents worth. There’s no better way to let the world know that you’re a follower of Jesus Christ than to spend Monday morning recounting what you did at Church.

2. Hey, what’s been going on with you these days? It’s almost an automatic question that’s thrown around the office daily. What’s up, bro? What’s new with you? Next time you hear someone ask you that, stop them for a second and tell them what Jesus Christ has done in your life. Tell them how he’s growing you and transforming your world view. It may knock their socks off, but it will certainly give them something to think about.

3. You won’t believe how hard my life has been lately. Life is tough. We all know it. We all feel the pressure of the difficult circumstances. Next time you hear someone complain about their life, take a moment and share the hope that only Christ can give. You could be the instrument God uses to bring someone to Christ. If you’re not sure what to say, just share your story, and perhaps a verse that God has used to encourage you. His word is powerful. Let it do its work.

4. What’s going on with the world these days? Current events are a common work place conversation piece. Next time you hear someone ranting about the economy or the current world crisis, slip in your observation about Christ’s plan to save the world. Don’t get political. Get loving. Get caring. Get kingdom minded, and stand up for what you believe is really going on in the world.

5. Can you believe what Sally said? Ah, office gossip! Who doesn’t love it? Yet one of the most effective ways to shine as lights for Christ is to put an end to office gossip. Be the one who stands up for the underdog. Give a different perspective, or simply walk away. It’s not easy to go against the stream, but it’s the right and loving thing to do.

Did you know that God has you right where you are, right now, for just the right reason?

So open your eyes and see. Open your ears and hear. And when it’s time, open your mouth and speak.

You’ll never regret it.

Or like Ben ask them if they know Jesus. Childlike simplicity.

I have a great praise! My son who is 14 years old had a fever of 105 and God brought his fever down! Amen! People can have their body shut down that temperature, but God gave us the wisdom through our Doctor and past experience, and not waiting until the medicine “kicked in” to check his temperature 5 minutes after it was 103.2, and got the right advice for bringing it down after the medicine was not doing it. God could STILL have decided NOT to let the fever come down. I have always owed my children’s lives to our Lord, but there are so many miracles that we can share with unbelievers, as if they “were” believers, and who knows what God will do with that? We plant, water and reap, depending on God’s plan!
As far as looking like a freak, I am always afraid I am going to get in trouble. I need to be more concerned with the fact that this may be the “last” time they ever come in contact with a Christian and it is high time I quit worrying about not “doing it right” and to just “Do it!” God will not let his word return void and if someone mentions my sinfulness, I will tell them they are absolutely right! That is why “I” need a savior!

May I be blessed by the Holy Spirit to remember that this life is short, and that MY life is not my own. Can you believe it? God trusts “US” to share Jesus with others!!!! What a privilege. People represent all kinds of things these days: companies, brands, groups, even families, churches!

Our most important representation is that of Jesus, and He told us to “Go tell what I have told you” like the woman at the well, and the disciples, and to us through the disciples!

I need to listen more, talk less, and then know that God will bless!
