The Fame of His Name

Nobody needs to know much about the man behind the camera.

The focus is instead on the famous person being watched.

There’s a verse in Isaiah 26:8 that says this: “Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and your renown are the desire of our hearts.” NIV.

Christians are supposed to make God famous. They’re supposed to hide behind the camera trying to capture the best picture possible of Him.

I’m not sure how we get so tangled up wanting to switch places with Him. Look at me, we cry for the world to see. Watch me, we clamor for attention.

Sunday is about putting the attention back on the Lord. Going to church is about no longer looking at our own faces and straining to see His instead. It’s about worship. It’s about adoration. It’s about confessing that He is the one worth watching.

Do you want to make God famous in your life? Here are some way you can do it.

  • Talk about Him every chance you’ve got.
  • Tell what’s He’s done for you to anyone who will listen.
  • Urge others who know Him to talk about Him.
  • Get as close as you can to where He is working.
  • Read everything He’s ever written.

So why don’t you get back behind the camera and make it all about Him?

    Perspective is everything. It is amazing how we always want to be in the lime light. You are right we do need to get out of the picture, and show Him off!

    Today blog is so good! God always know how to talk to me thought you Lina. I’m so at the place where I want to read everything he ever wrote. Also getting close to him, telling my story about what God has done in my life and urge others to talk about him. But when it comes to talking about him to other I get this fear, its mostly when I’m at work. I have try to talk to people at work, but in a nice way. Sometimes I think they think I’m crazy cause I won’t go out and party with any of them. Now that I think about it maybe I due talk about God more then I think.
