The Road to Dating Success

It’s time for me to make a public confession.

I’ve had 1 date in the last year. Don’t say it. I already know it. It’s pathetic, it’s sad, it’s pitiful. Bla bla bla.

So how in the world do I plan on dishing out tips on dating? Well, they say true wisdom is learning from other people’s mistakes.So today I’d like to share with you 4 reasons why I’m still single with the hopes that you will read and learn from my own mistakes.

1. I’m too Proud. I said it first here on this blog. I’m single partly because I’m way too proud. It’s hard for me to admit that I may need a guy in my life, it’s hard for me to admit that I need help getting a date, and it’s hard for me to in fact date. Don’t let pride get in the way of your future. Be honest about who you are and what you need.

2. I’m too Picky. Yep, I said it first – again. I am way way too picky. The guy is too tall or not tall enough, he’s too smart and nerdy, or he’s not well read enough, he’s too carefree or he doesn’t have enough fun. You get the picture. It’s time I look in the mirror and get real. Nobody’s perfect, so stop looking for that elusive perfect guy.

3. I’m too Busy. Ok, I know you’re thinking it, but I’m gonna go ahead and say it first. If you want to date, you’ve got to make time for dating. It’s not rocket science. In my own schedule right now, if I were to go on a date I’d have to do it during my sleep time, or my bathroom time, neither of which is ideal. So…free up your schedule and make it happen!

4. I’m too Lazy. I’m sure I don’t come across that way, in fact, there is hardly another person who works as hard as I do, but when it comes to dating, believe me when I say it first: I am way too lazy. Nothing comes easy in life – not a job, not an education, not a blog following. I’m serious when I say that relationships take effort and time. Are you willing to do what it takes? Only you can make that decision.

Now if only I could put my own advice into practice!

    I am lovin your bling male and female sex symbols. It definitely gave me a good laugh. I am also tickle at your text. So, are you going to make some changes in your life to become more “dateable”? Oh by the way, I have not been on a date much longer and less often than you my beloved sister! There is always someone worst off or less “fortunate” than yourself. Though I think I’m doing very well regardless of the lack of dates. I seem to get a lot of flirty advances but nothing transpiring to much so that’s good too because I definitely want God to keep me from the wrong one coming into my life! I’m confidently, enjoying this season of singlehood and “datelessness”.

    It made sense. I also laugh so hard I just abtout cried! No one wants to take away from bathroom room time.True tho.When one wants to commit one will. Makes sense.
