Do you wonder about that Saturday?
What went through Peter’s head? What was Thomas thinking? Where was Mary, his mother? And what about John, the one He loved?
Mary Magdalene was devastated. The two walking to Emmaus were dejected.
Hopes were shattered. Dreams forsaken. Loved one gone.
Nobody likes to be in the waiting, especially when it feels like it’s over. I wonder what Lazarus said, or was he too broken to remember? And where were Mary and Martha? They had seen resurrection. Did they still believe?
It’s easy to gloss over that Saturday. It’s easy to rush towards the empty tomb.
But most of us live in that Saturday.
Life looks grim. There’s no way out. The fight seems over. All is gone.
We’ve been told things will get better, that all will work out, but we haven’t seen it yet.
Are you in the waiting? Are you on the verge of throwing in the towel?
Remember, Sunday’s coming.
The story is not over. The end has not been sealed.
Tomorrow may be your day, the resurrection of your dreams.
If you’ll only keep on waiting.
He never lies. He always speaks the truth. Death may seem certain, but life is right around the corner.
Can you feel it?
Just wait. Hope is here.
