I think my hair is turning white.
At first, I thought it was just a little sun streaked. But while I was driving the other day, I looked in the rear view mirror (no, it’s not for driving, it’s for seeing yourself more clearly than you did at home while getting ready for the day!) and distinctly saw the color white.
On more than one hair.
I ignored it at first, but it’s becoming harder. I’ve caught them sprouting at the roots right there at my hair line.
Don’t worry. They won’t be there for long. Jean Pierre will take care of that. I try to pick out a couple at first, but am now very concerned that that behavior is partially responsible for the rapid proliferation of whites I’m seeing. So I’m letting them be. But not for long.
My hair is turning white.
Which reminds me that I’m almost 40. (I’ll completely deny it if you ask me again in person).
Which reminds me that I’m almost at the “no child yet to come” age soon.
Which reminds me that I’m in the “haven’t had a date in a year” group of great single women.
Which reminds me that I’m still waiting in line for something.
Which reminds me that they didn’t have the right color iphone band on line for me to order
Which reminds me that I’m always waiting on Steve Jobs for something
Which reminds me that I am impatient.
Which reminds me of how little white hair has to do with true maturity (at least in my case).
Which reminds me of my need for wisdom beyond my years and experience.
Which reminds me of why I believe in God.
Which reminds me of my Bible.
Which reminds me that I’m dying someday in the not so distant future.
Which reminds me of why I’m grateful for Jesus dying on the cross for me.
Which reminds me of what I’m supposed to do with the rest of my days.
Which reminds me of the importance of making an impact on the next generation of women – those with the brown and yellow hairs.
Which reminds me of how fast this is all going.
Which reminds me that I need to get off the computer and get to it.
Which reminds me that I’m now late for church.
All because my hair is turning white.
