Our vision at Living With Power is to bring hope to the world. One of the primary ways we accomplish this goal is by meeting urgent physical needs in disaster areas. Our founder, Lina Abujamra, is a Pediatric Emergency Room doctor with over 20 years of medical experience. Because of her expertise in both emergency medicine and disaster relief, our work has primarily focused on urgent medical needs and setting up health care systems in local communities. We also establish educational programs to help empower the most vulnerable populations and equip them with hope for a better future.

Our global humanitarian work began in Lina’s birth country of Lebanon at the onset of the Syrian refugee crisis. In 2020 we expanded our efforts to the Lebanese people after the devastating explosion in the downtown of Beirut.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine (Feb 2022) until Sept. 2024, we have also supported the Ukrainian people and refugees as the country has been ravaged by an unexpected and tragic war.

Highlights from this year's impact

Lebanon remains a country hosting the largest number of refugees per capita and per square kilometer in the world. Here is what God has helped us accomplish this year through our humanitarian efforts!

  • Launched a Community Center in Doris, near Baalbak, creating a hub for educational programs
  • Provided weekly tutoring for school-aged children
  • Ran a medical clinic serving refugees and local Lebanese patients in need
  • Started a Women’s Health Awareness Program to educate and empower women
  • Distributed free medications to over 400 patients every week
  • Organized a summer camp bringing joy and hope to local children
  • Introduced a Music Program to inspire and engage children through music
  • Began sewing classes for women, helping them develop valuable skills
  • Delivered relief packages to families facing crisis
  • Extended support to displaced families in Ukraine during their time of need
  • Made new partners on the ground (Warm Hearts in Cold Houses and The Warm Hands)

OUR WORK IN LEBANON

MEDICAL PROGRAM

We support a clinic and medication dispensary that runs year-round serving both Syrian refugee communities and the Lebanese people. The clinic provides a combination of urgent care needs and ongoing healthcare for a growing primary care population. We also set up quarterly medical-dental clinics in Lebanon with teams from the U.S.

EDUCATION PROGRAM

Our Community Center offers a range of impactful programs: educational support for school-age children, including tutoring, music, art, and Bible lessons; a Women’s Health Awareness Program, sewing classes to educate and build practical skills for women, and more.
We also encourage Christians through publishing and distributing discipleship resources and speak at events and conferences in Middle East countries.

URGENT CARE NEEDS

We help support the urgent care needs of both Lebanese and Syrian people by providing housing subsidies for persecuted refugee families as well as by meeting basic humanitarian needs: meals, medication, gasoline, etc.

Our Work in Ukraine

Since the very beginning of the war, we have been partnering with a network of 80 churches in Ukraine (Word of Life) and together are committed to helping as many people as possible with food, housing, supplies, transit, and urgent needs.

“Currently we continue to help all categories of refugees and temporarily relocated Ukrainians. The main areas of help remain the distribution of food packages, soup kitchens, providing accommodation for families, helping families with children and the elderly. For the winter, we are buying heaters, boilers, wood for fire, water filters, and winter clothing.” – Lena Yefimenko, Relief Work Admin

These efforts are possible only thanks to all the gifts you give!
